Andre Tourigny Talks Habs, WJC, NHL, Being a “Bear”

February 19, 2021

By Grant McCagg

Ottawa 67’s head coach Andre Tourigny compares Nick Suzuki to a Conn Smythe Trophy winner, and weighs in on whether Suzuki is a future #1 center. He also talks about his experience as an assistant and head coach of Team Canada in the 2020 and 2021 World Junior Championship, his early years as a bar bouncer and how he got the nickname ‘Bear’.

He also touches on Montreal Canadiens’ recent 16th overall pick Kaiden Guhle, and why he will be so tough to play against in the NHL. Tourigny tells us his early favourites in the North Division, and discusses the current success the Toronto Maple Leafs are having under Sheldon Keefe.
