Beckett Sennecke Climbing the Rankings

Beckett Sennecke has 12 goals and 32 points in his last 19 games. Only six of those points were secondary assists…so 26 primary points in 16 games. He has six goals and nine assists in ten playoff games, and only failed to score a point in one match. Against the Ottawa 67s, Sennecke had two points in every game as the Generals swept their longtime rivals.
Sennecke was listed at 5-10 150 when Oshawa selected him eighth overall in the OHL draft. He has grown three inches in the past year, so there is some filling out to do. Apparently, he has about a size 14 skate, so the kid may not even be done growing yet. He is up to at least 6-2, and when he adds another 20 pounds he should be a powerful skater.
The triple combo he has that projects well to the NHL is size/hands/vision. He has the puck skills and length to keep the puck from opponents and his on-ice awareness enables him to possess the puck until he spots an open linemate. He is one of the three best playmakers in this draft class – we could be looking at a future 40 or 50-assist, 6-2 winger.
He has first-line upside, and given the room he still has to improve, I would not be shocked if he is strongly considered by any teams picking from 6-10 in the draft that may be looking for a top-six forward.
