Sorry Brian have to disagree with you about Patch becoming a depreciating asset. Phil Kessel was god awful at the end of his time in Toronto, he had like 2 goals in his last 20 games as a Leaf, and a -34 plus minus. Once he got to Pittsburgh he started scoring again. Just watch, once Patch is out of Montreal he will start scoring again also. It’s time MB cashed out on this asset that he will not resign once the contract runs out. Him being Captain is irrelevant IMO. There will be teams lining up for him trust me. Darren Dreger said the same thing on radio this morning.

So then, patch seems done with montreal, burnt out with the stress of the captaincy, the D first style, being a scape goat, fishbowl etc. Time to trade him. An aging vet with a high contract, wanting more for less production would be a stupid backwards resigning.the league is young, fast, mobile, all things 67 is not

Sell, sell, sell! Pacioretty, Plekanec, Alzner if there are any takers…likely not for the last two.

Buffalo did it,edmonton did it,toronto did it,for yrs in most cases. Now its the habs turn, sacrafice an allready gone ssn anyway ssn for a great high draft pick in june.they are in that mode now and it IS the RIGHT thing to do. Ice the team with the least chance of winning ,so far so good. Ya i watch with one eye on whatever else, barely follow them now but cest la vie in mtl.

The sooner PatCHes is dealt the better. The captaincy has just completely destroyed him. He isn’t a leader and should never have been burdoned with the role. No recovery for his career until then. This misguided experiment threw the whole team out of whack.

Another great read. You’re absolutely right about the GMs in the league. No one has a flawless record. MB is a tough one to read right now… I would have expected something sooner from him to set the tone for him, the team, and the fans. Maybe the lack of action is that tone?
