Thank you, Robert. I have the odd old brain moment now. Ken played for the New York Islanders. :).

Pierre McGuire would be an utter disaster in a front office role with Montreal. His tenure in Hartford was more than enough to show that. What a massive mistake it is to even consider.

Reality today : habs are in a tail spin,on fire and its clear the decision has been made to do nothing..let it crash and burn til april ,and hope we are in the bottom 5 come seasons end. Addition by subtraction.building up by burning up. Count me in. It needs to happen folks.oilers got mcdavid and others by tanking for yrs.buffalo got eichel by tanking.toronto got matthews by…uh sucking since 67,lol. The loophole in the draft system though not intended to do that encourages shit teams to ” ice the least competative” team possible (eg: prolonging the return of injured vets,ya ya take 6 more weeks, were tanking anyway) and oppsie losing to get a high draft choice, that if good enough, and the recent trend is,play the 18,19 yr olds to fill those void positions immediately, not half a decade down the road. Until that loophole draft tanking system is fixed, hell ya sista..do what others have done to retool,rebuild..TANK.
Get a prez of hockey operations, trade core players to get a1c, 1d. Mediocre wont cut it in montreal anymore.we are FED UP !!!!!! Pierre Mcguire save us.

I watched the first period of the game last night, then headed out to watch some junior hockey as the hometown Rockets were playing Medicine Hat. Good game, my guys won 5-2 buoyed by stellar play from two guys that were at the World Juniors along with our young Mete–Cal Foote and Dillon Dube. Tampa and Calgary did well drafting these kids, and the Flames in particular are going to have a lot of fun with Dube probably as early as next year. Adding him to that great young roster alongside Gaudreau, Monahan, Tkachuk, et al. will keep things rolling for an up-and-coming team.

As much as I want to see Scherbak crack the roster and get a real opportunity to show his stuff, at this stage of this season I feel that what you said about Mete factors in here, “There are no important games left in this season.” So what’s the point in giving him the Daniel Carr treatment? He’ll either get 11 minutes a night on a line with Plekanec where offence goes to die, or sit in the press box eating hot dogs. Because we know this coaching staff doesn’t give rookies ice time or put them in a position to strut their stuff. He’ll be lucky to get through three shifts on a top-six before being too flashy and thus getting demoted so that Logan Shaw can log some extra minutes and maybe get that offensive breakthrough that the brass keeps threatening us with.
