Great work by Farabee in the offensive zone for most of the US All American Prospects Game with relentless pursuit of the puck and keen anticipation resulting in numerous turnovers. He and Wahlstrom were easily the most dangerous forwards on Team Chelios, creating chances with great frequency due mostly to diligent spadework by the 5-11 winger. He looks like a solid top 30 prospect at this point.
NHL Scouts Comments
Oct. 15, 2017 – A very smart player..NHL hockey sense for sure, makes plays. Really good skill; NHL release, really good shot, competes his ass off. High-end kid, he’s team captain, everyone in the program loves him. The big issue at this time is just his strength. He was 140 pounds last year, and now he’s 164 I think. He might always be a light guy. And then his skating… he’s kind of that wide-track, bent-over heel kick…average speed..he’s okay.but..a 16-pound guy that doesn’t skate well right now is really a tough sell..but I love the brain, I love the stick skills. I got him as a 20-30 guy right now..but that’s a tough call between him and Wilde. Dog on a bone, finishes checks, very very competitive, never cheat you, really good all-around player.Dec. 4, 2017 – Really talented.
Dec. 15, 2017 – I think he skates fine. I think it’s just a strength thing. He played better later in the tournament.
Jan. 17, 2018 – His skating looked okay, looked good. I think it’s just a matter of strength as he’s really agile. He’s a real nifty player…smart and skilled. He plays at a good pace, always moving. Forces turnovers.
Jan. 25, 2018 – They’ve got him really high. We like him..but I don’t see him going higher than 15. He works his ass off, high-character guy, really smart, there’s good skill there. I don’t think he’s a great skater. He’s 164 pounds..you see him off the ice and do your body assessment and you start to add it up..he might always be a light guy. I like him, I’ve got him as a first-round guy, but I think there’s a little bit more of a miss factor than some guys think.
