Skill is the optimum word for this speedy Czech center who needs only added strength and consistency to be a center with top-two pro potential. Given the concerns about his consistency it might be wise to make the move to North America next season whether it be to play junior or toil in the AHL.
NHL Scouts’ Comments
Dec. 2016 – Not inconsistent the 3 games in 3 days I saw him at U20 tournament in November. Pretty thin/weak versus men so can’t expect him to be great every night.
Dec. 2016 – First game no good…benched in the second.Looking tentative these days. Whole team is a bit tentative and out of sorts..but it’s the kids’ fault lol. Not seeing much ice.
Mar. 7, 2017 – I want him to be better..but he hasn’t been. A little outside, a little soft..lets someone else fo it once in awhile..not carrying the team on his back. with those physical attribute you want to like him better than a Pettersson, but you can’t right now. Not as smart as Pettersson. His skill level is really good..you watch him in warmup and you say “holy sh**…he’s a superstar. But he’s a little bit deer in the headlights right now..you’re not sure about some thing..there is a little bit of risk factor..so you’ve got to be careful when you take him. You don’t want to rank him too low if he’s got better upside, but if there are other guys you have a better feel on and feel they’re player…sometimes you have to go by a player with his talent level.
Mar. 27, 2017- Necas has real good attributes but is a lot of projection. Not a play driver per se but can compliment. Hope he gives me more in April.
Mar. 28, 2017 – Says something when he produces in men’s league. Sometimes these National team performances can fool ya.
May 3, 2017 – I thought he was just okay..outside too much.
May 6, 2017 – He is a ballbuster for me. I get the upside but his game is very immature. Some risk there.
