Scouting Report – Noah Dobson vs. Gatineau
October 19, 2017
By Grant McCagg
Noah Dobson made his one and only appearance in Hull last night, and for the most part he looked like a player who had just been on a 1000-kilometre bus trip as he never really got his legs going until the third period in a 5-3 Acadie-Bathurst victory over Gatineau.
Dobson was solid most of the night, however, and it must be taken into account that he played 30 minutes and in such circumstances has to pace himself. Nevertheless, as one scout said to me after two periods, “he’s not doing much tonight.”
Perhaps scouts were getting a bit spoiled after some of his breathtaking games in the past month where he was making end-to-end rushes every few minutes. He had been getting caught trying to do too much on some nights though, and it looked like the coach was asking him to reel it in a bit in regards to joining the offence on almost every rush.
