WHL Game Report Feb. 18: Saskatoon vs. Calgary

February 25, 2018

By Derek Neumeier

Tristen Nielsen – Calgary Hitmen

The Calgary Hitmen are one of the worst teams in the WHL, a club that traded away its top players this season to begin a necessary rebuild, but right wing Tristen Nielsen has emerged as a guy that gives the Hitmen’s fans something to cheer about on a nightly basis.

Nielsen is short, at roughly 5’10”, but he is fairly stocky for his frame and loves to play physical and much bigger than his size. On the very first shift of this game he came in on the forecheck and threw a fast and heavy hit on a much bigger Blades defenseman, setting the tone for how he was going to perform the rest of the afternoon.
