Jonathan Drouin hasn’t scored yet for the Montreal Canadiens, but he’s already won the hearts of fans with a large donation to the Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal. Drouin announced at CHUM that he will donate $500,000 over the next ten years. Additionally, Drouin will become the hospital’s ambassador and will spearhead raising $5 million dollars with a variety of initiatives.
Captain Max Pacioretty, former Habs great Serge Savard, and agent Allan Walsh were in attendance at the Tuesday afternoon news conference, along with the Canadiens’ director of communications Donald Beauchamp.

Can’t help but see the clear support for Drouin from Teammates – I remember when PK made the gesture, it was very lone-wolfesque, not a soul from Habs mgmt. There’s probably more to that story but there’s a clear grooming process with Drouin. They want him to be Lafleur 2.0
