Not to sound like an extreme idiot fan,but really,seriously its easier to do a quick turn around retool if we did this,my fan opinion.
1- trade price for a bonified number 1 young center and a 1st round draft pick. Why? Paying 31 at 30 yrsold for past performance is stupid,hes injury prone and has lost his laser focus warrior type play.chronic fatigue syndrome its said he has,ya new daddy syndromes more like it,plus media/ fan fishbowl bashing too.
2- trade pacioretty for a 1D, straight up hockey deal
This solves two major habs holes.
3- rid benn,schlemko,revamp dcore
4-buyout alzner
5- draft thee best available D in june
6- play lingren,neimi next ssn
7- offer tavares 15 mill,shoot for the stars,gotta pay the stars..if we trade carey at 10M, it opens up major cap room there.
Nice one boys. I have to agree that 15 million for Tavares might be a bit too high for a player but how often does a number centre with that kinda talent become available?Plus you have to factor in the tax,weather and the TMZ driven sports media in Montreal. 15m is probably the best selling point for the Habs.
