Zadina-Mite!

I had a look at Filip Zadina’s four goals in the last 37 minutes of Halifax’s game versus Charlottetown last night.
On his first goal showed off his great shot and release, receiving a pass in the slot that was bulging the twine before he was finishing his follow through. On his second goal a lot of the credit goes to fellow draft-eligible prospect Benoit-Olivier Groulx, as he made a great move to the net and made a fabulous cross-crease pass to Zadina who had a gimme tap-in. Still…Zadina anticipated the play and went to the right spot..the front of the net.
Zadina’s third goal was pure skill and smarts. He got the puck at the point on the power play, faked a pass to the slot then made an inside deke to lose his checker, stepped into the high slot and unleashed a quick wrist shot top corner that was a rocket. It’s been seen about 20 times from Zadina this season, but it never gets old. It makes one shake his head every time.
Zadina got behind the defenceman on his fourth goal..missed the pass but went and got the puck and was all alone…got it behind the net, moved out in front…delayed on his backhand until the goalie went down and roofed it in the open side as he slid across. Patience and skill yet again on a slick goal.
The big night moves his totals to 33 goals in just 41 games….sick numbers for a draft-eligible 6-1 winger who plays an all-around game. It’s hard to picture anyone else in North America going ahead of him at this point. This guy is going to be a 40-goal scorer some day in the NHL.
Habs are getting awfully close to being able to select him.
