Oh oui,Brian!!

I’m strangely excited for this Habs season, despite the depressing loss of Markov and Radulov. The addition of Drouin, and his potential at Center, will be fun to watch…really hoping the naysayers and “negative Nancy’s” eat their words. How will Bergevin use his extra Cap space? Another future potentially exciting development to watch for!

I’m sorry if you already answered this elsewhere Brian, but have you been granted full Media access by the Habs organization for this coming season?

We have been granted full access. We are thrilled. That was a biggie.

Grant full access! Congrats guys! I’m very pleased for you guys (and ultimately myself!).

I had a good feeling all along. 🙂

Glad to hear it. I believe sports reporters are at their best when they take the tack you obviously do: to be more analyst than cheerleader, and more investigative reporter than unabashed shit-stirrer. Keep it up. Your audience (and evidently the Canadiens organization) appreciate it!

I have mixed feelings with Galchenyuk not having a shot at center again…

On one hand I’m glad they settled on a plan and walked away from possible distraction, but on the other hand he really had some good moments there back in 2016 when everything else was falling appart.

At the end of the day I guess the most important is that everyone knows exactly what their role is.

Would like to see : Pacioretty-Drouin-Gallagher / Lekhonen-Danault – Galchenyuk / Byron – Plekanec – Shaw / De la Rose – Mitchell – Hemsky . I am not sure I want Hudon on bottom 6 . I would prefer too see him in the top 6 if there is injuries on one of our top 4 wingers. I agree that Hudon will probably start in Mtl because of waivers. He deserves a chance and was very good in AHL but I dont see where he fit. Not the prototypical bottom 6. Is it october yet? Cant wait. Continue the work Brian!

With KidA (Gallagher) hopefully working with better control in his twice-injured hand, do we see him now on the top line with Patches and Drouin? Or do we see him on the second line, jumping into the blue paint and waiting with his trademark shovel for one of those feathered passes our Tomas Plekanec used to dish out so fabulously (yet so absent in the last couple of seasons, regrettably)?

I do hope McCarron makes it this year, partly to have his size in the line-up, but I suppose that will come only due to an injury, or after the probable trade of Pleks. De La Rose always had good D, which should curry favour with Julien, but this matter of Galchenyuk planted on the wing is to my mind, all about taking the pressure off him and letting this 30-goal scorer achieve using his natural talents.

Looking forward to camp. Just wondering who will fill the Radulov shoes as new fan fave?

I hope they give Drouin all the chances he needs to understand the inevitable mistakes he’ll do and work on them. BUT we also happen to now have a coach who can actually develop players in Julien.

I’ll still wait before I celebrate our new top center, cause it’s still not done, but damn at least there is hope.

Now if only Jerabek could develop next to Weber instead of Schlemko, but that’s another point…

BTW, I feel like both you and Grant are going to do an amazing job together. Glad to have subscribed !
